DESCRIPTION:The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality will award up to $500\,000 in grants for projects that promote waste prevention\, reuse or recovery. Local governments\, nonprofit organizations and federally-recognized tribal nations are encouraged to apply. Funding for projects that prevent wasted food is also available to public schools\, colleges and universities. \nDEQ will host a public conference call about the application process on Monday\, July 30\, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A second call for tribal nations is scheduled for August 3. \nView the full news release.  For more information click here.

SUMMARY:Grant: STEM Beyond School
DESCRIPTION:The Statewide STEM Beyond School project has received funding from the Collins Foundation to support two additional afterschool and/or out-of-school providers to start or expand STEM education programming for 2018-19. The Collins Foundation invests in Oregon nonprofit organizations\, both rural and urban\, that are dedicated to improving quality of life and well-being for the people in their communities. The Foundation’s vision includes making Oregon a place where all people have access to high quality\, culturally responsible services in sectors such as health\, social services\, education\, housing and employment. \nThe selected applicants will receive $25\,000 in program funds to expand STEM learning opportunities to underserved students in grades 3-8 and will gain access to professional development and learning opportunities for educators during the next school year. Interested organizations should review the Application Guidance Document prior to completing this application. \nAll responses must be submitted through this Google Form.
