PDX Youth Climate Summit

December 12, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free
The Youth Climate Summit, created by local BIPOC youth, will be a day of learning, leadership, and creativity. Sponsored by City of Portland, with support from PSU.

About this Event

This is a fantastic opportunity for youth at any level of organizing to get involved in the climate movement! Coming from a group of youth with varying organizing experiences, we know how integral education is to fueling activism and that the year of 2020 has indicated a need for leadership and radical change— a role we must entrust to youth. The series of workshops presented at the Youth Climate Summit is led by an invigorating line-up of speakers anticipating a day of learning, leadership, and creativity. Despite the limitations of a virtual event space, we fully intend to bring the spirit of youth activism into this event and hope to share it with others! Some of the workshops that will be available on the day of the event: Climate Organizing + Climate Justice 101, Inviting Indigenous Voices to Speak, and Eco Anxiety and Mental Health.
